Chris Cassidy, currently Associate Professor of New Media & Design and Interim Director of the School of Art at the UNCG, will be delivering an artist talk March 6th to discuss his work and making digital, interactive-based installations. His work has appeared in exhibitions throughout the US as well as in international venues. He has been commissioned for work by private and public institutions, including the Academy of Natural Sciences in Philadelphia and the State University of New York at Albany. Recent projects use interactive digital media to explore how experience of place is mediated by pre-existing mental constructs like maps and models, and the potential of technology to radically alter the perceptual relationship between individuals and their environment.
